Some questions to ask yourself:
Some questions to ask yourself:
- Is the staff friendly? If the staff is not friendly, it is a reflection, in our opinion that sets the tone for the whole office.
- Is the Veterinarian or Provider friendly?
- Does the provider listen to me?
- Is that provider available when I call especially during an emergency?
- Can I count on that provider?
- Is the office or facility clean?
- Do they request I just "drop off" my horse for a Veterinarian check up instead of allowing me to make an appointment and be with my horse?
- Do they know how to handle horses? (Are they abusive? Do they yell? Do they threaten? Do they hit the horse? Do they call it names (stupid)?)
- Will or do they allow you to visit their facility without notice?
- Do they require you to show proof of Coggins? This is a good thing! It protects your horse and you!
- Are they licensed?
- Are they certified?
- Is it a true business? They need an EIN number and they should have Articles of Incorporation showing they are registered with the State they practice or provide the service. (If applicable).
